The University has been granted “Institutional” and “Programmatic”Accreditation after meeting the accreditation requirements and criteria contained in the “National Centre for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Educational and Training Institutions” (CQAA) (a member of the Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC)).
The University adopts a realistic strategy for structured/guided self-learning to acquiring knowledge and developing skills and talents related to professional and life practice. The University’s approach to “self-learning” and “problem-based learning (PBL)” is imperative due tothe “characteristics of this era”and the“future needs and challenges”.
LIMU offers unique specialties that are not available in other Libyan universities such as:
- Basic Medical Sciences specialty.
- A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) specialty.
- Health Informatics specialization in the Faculty of IT.
The university administration provides an organizational climate based on information, dialogue and teamwork. The university administration also uses negotiation/communication skills to solve problems.
LIMU provides the necessary support for students’ success, which includesIT-based educational services, a “clinical skills center”, equipped classrooms, advanced scientific laboratories and a rich library of electronic and paper based learning resources. Apart from the difficulties that may face you in your educational career, you will find an academic mentor who will assist you in making the important decisions and choices that may face you on your way to achieving your academic and professional success.
The University always seeks to develop curriculum’s and review them periodically by the “Curriculum Development Committees” and to develop new curricula such as critical thinking, problem solving and ethics within the university’s graduation requirements, in addition to that, the university seeks to design modern methods of evaluation compatible to the “approved teaching and learning strategy”,as well as the development of faculty members to support the “PBL” learning strategy.
The University embraces the concept of lifelong learning, and is keen to maintain its relationship with graduates by building “communication and outreach” various channels and dealing with the graduates “in a meaningful way”, and giving them a unique opportunity to participate in the university programs.
The campus is a clean, healthy, smoke-free environment with an advanced IT network infrastructure and a community of affinity, love and outreach.
The department of “Security and Order”works to maintain security and safety within the university through the implementation and follow-up of maintaining order and security procedures.
The university administration provides a supportive environment for“development” and “making the difference” and accepting“all that is new”. The university administration also makes plans for reform and development and continuously monitors its implementation.
The University’s management manages strategic planning methods and works according to the rules, legislation’s and laws governing the work. It also establishes a charter of culture and ethical values that prevail in the university community. It also sets plans and programs for sustainable professional development in the light of the university’s performance self evaluation results.
The University opens its doors to community institutions and embraces many of its activities based on its role in serving the community and its social responsibility. It encourages students and employees to pay back the debt we owe to“our country” through community participation while helping to connect with “voluntary institutions” and community service that are compatible with students’ orientations and interests.
The University holds many local, regional and international partnership and cooperation agreements and promotes participation in scientific conferences for the purpose of developing educational programs, research activities and exchange of faculty members.
