Last Tuesday was the 4th consecutive day of the faculty of Basic Medical Sciences open week which was made up of an educational scientific competition for the first year students and this is considered part of different learning methods and different ways of learning and practice how to think critically and quickly, there were 2 teams competing from different years, and 2 teams from each year and the winning team proceeds to the next stage.

The semi-final stage was made up of 4 teams from the 4 years, and only the 2 winning teams reached the final level.There was also a workshop especially designed for the BMS students called “How to perform in less time” with Ms Asma Elgazery.

There was a training session and human development hubs in a modern style which includes visual and audio aids and supporting exercises like time management. Discussions were also included in the BMS open week, as a way for the audience to think critically about controversial pre- agreed on topics. 2 groups of students with opposite opinions prepare themselves by collecting information and evidence to prove their opinion. This is then presented to the opposition and audience to try to convince as many people as possible.

The open week ended on the 4th day with a number of meetings with the organizing committee who were preparing for the scientific day to be held the following day like the committee of presentations, the committee of community work the committee of free work the committee of clinical skills and the organizing committee.BMS open week aims to provide students with different educational and educational experiences, enhancing the spirit of teamwork and competitiveness, building confidence in the students, assigning work tasks to get a sense of responsibility, to practice discussions, and to change the daily routine as well as to strengthen the relationship between students and their teachers within a disciplined educational framework.
