The Libyan International University Library for Medical Sciences was established on 10/20/2007.
That the library of the Libyan International University is at the level of international libraries and the most important center for educational resources within its local and regional scope.
Work to make the university library a pioneering entity in providing information services with a digital character and high quality to enable the university to provide distinctive scientific education and production, expand the information services provided to become on a larger scale locally, and form the university’s libraries to become a knowledge repository that meets the various needs of the research community.
1- The university library works to facilitate the benefit of faculty members, students, educational supervisors, and university workers from its holdings and the services it provides to help advance scientific research and support the university’s academic, scientific, and educational curricula.

To achieve this mission, the university library does the following:
Acquisition of books, references, periodicals, and other information containers.
Preparing the indexes necessary for the workflow.
Provide access to articles, references, periodicals, books, and other sources of information.
The audiovisual service is provided by providing a sufficient number of computers.
The necessity of attending seminars and exhibitions held in the city related to the field of libraries to keep abreast of the latest technological developments occurring in the field of libraries and information for professionals and workers in the field of libraries.
The educational and educational role of libraries is summarized in providing sources of knowledge, strengthening academic curricula, providing information, supporting research activities, developing the habit of reading and acquaintance, and developing skills and abilities that help in the speed of learning. It represents a major nerve in the academic system as a whole, a servant of its goals and a supporter of its educational policy.
The library has the honor to present to you the organizational bylaw that organizes services and workflow inside the library due to the scientific importance of the library and its essential role in the educational process for undergraduate students, faculty members, and educational supervisors.
The library is affiliated to the presidency of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and no action is taken until after it has been referred to and approved by him.
First: Introducing the library
The university library opens its doors to those who frequent it all days of the week, except for Friday, the working hours are from 8:00 in the morning until 8:30 in the evening.
Second: The library’s website
1- The university library is located in the first educational building next to the classrooms and the library includes (2) internal rooms, a room for internal review for groups of students who study how to access book titles in a Landscape way, as well as internal copies of references, atlases and graduation research.
2- Technical Procedures Room: in which books are indexed and classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification.
The main hall for reading and reading: it is a large hall that includes (5) large tables and each table can accommodate (12) seats. There are also (7) computers for the beneficiaries and a number (270) shelves, as it is equipped with central air conditioning, and (3) offices and (3) Staff devices and (1) printers.
Internal Viewing Service:
The library provides a service to view its holdings for researchers from inside and outside the university after determining the required book and giving its data to the library specialist to help him access it in order to save time and effort of the researcher.
It is allowed to borrow books with multiple copies for the faculty members, students and educational supervisors. It is not allowed to borrow one copy of the book. It is not allowed to borrow scientific periodicals. The borrowing process is done through the electronic library system.
The following items are not loaned outside the library, namely (encyclopedias – dictionaries – manuscripts – periodicals – scientific letters – rare books – multi-part books – volumes – maps – atlases).
