LIMU Qualifies Doctors in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)

Dr. Osman Al-Tajouri, head of the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) program in Libya, expressed his pride as February 2026 concluded with a remarkably successful ceremony for ATLS courses.

These were hosted in Libya for the first time under official accreditation from the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the Libyan International University Simulation Center.

Over six consecutive days, under the distinguished scientific leadership of expert professors from Egypt led by Prof. Dr. Abdul Hakim Al-Khouli, three specialized courses were completed. Two “Provider Courses” graduated a batch of doctors qualified to manage trauma cases according to the latest global protocols. Additionally, a historic “Instructor Course” qualified a group of our doctors as certified trainers, capable of transferring this knowledge to future local generations. The discipline and high competence displayed by participants from across Libya, combined with the advanced equipment at the LIMU Simulation Center, confirm that our country is prepared to lead surgical medical education in the regio

I extend my sincerest gratitude and appreciation to our colleagues and mentors from sisterly Egypt for their boundless support and for sharing their expertise so generously.

I also commend the hard work of the staff and organizing committees.

This success is not merely a certificate to hang on a wall; it is a new commitment to enhancing the efficiency of our emergency doctors and surgeons to save more lives. May God bless everyone’s efforts and make this knowledge a benefit to our nation and our country.
