The Official Establishment of the University Medical Center (UMC)
Creating the University Medical Center. Technically affiliated with the university under council supervision via the Vice President for Educational Health Facilities, it is based in the university-owned building in “Bouhdima,” New Benghazi, serving as a vital cornerstone for healthcare and exceptional medical training.

Adoption of the Strategic Plan [2024 – 2030]
With the endorsement of the university’s comprehensive strategic roadmap (2024-2030), which pivots on core pillars including: updating vision and mission, stakeholder analysis, SWOT evaluation, higher education strategies, and institutional goals, to guide all schools, programs, and educational centers toward achieving a sustainable, qualitative leap.

The Formal Transition to a “Program-Based University
Adopting the new structure and actual shift into a “program-based university,” the university’s three main schools and their academic tracks (undergraduate and postgraduate) were approved: School of Medical and Health Sciences, School of Engineering and Technology, and School of Humanities and Social Sciences, initiating a new phase of integrated specialized education.

Establishing a Peer-Regulation Scientific Journal Affiliated With the University
Launching its own peer-reviewed scientific journal named “Journal of the Best Available Evidence in Medicine,” to serve as an academic platform for enriching knowledge, tracking scientific progress, and supporting local and international researchers and faculty members.
