BMS Faculty First Year Students Seminar on DNA and Genetic Material

On Saturday morning, two groups of first year students at BMS presented a seminar within the requirements of the general science block in the form of a presentation.

The first presentation about: DNA ,presented by students:
(*) Shahed Abdul Nasser (*) Salem Mohammed al-Farsi (*) Smo Eldin Khalid .

The second group presented genetic material,\”Genetic Material\”, presented by the students:

(*) Roa Khalid (*) Arij Rashid (*) Saad Khalid (*) Rataj Jamal.

After the presentation, which is a summary of what was studied within a week, whether in brain storming sessions, debriefing sessions, or in laboratories and lectures, faculty members discussed students and evaluated content. Scientific presentations, as well as evaluating presentation skills according to the model prepared for it, and emphasizing to students the depth of the educational objectives of the week.
The presentations are prepared by students in groups (approximately 5 students per group) and each group deals with a different theme from the other groups.

Before presenting the presentation, students will participate in a learning session with the T.L.S. team, in which they are divided into groups, discuss what they have studied during the week, and what they have written, and then present them to the faculty members, who provide the necessary answers, thus contributing to Deepen understanding of the scientific content of lectures, panel discussions and laboratories.

After completing the learning sessions with the team, the students begin to answer the Group Quiz group test in which they divide into groups by Brain Storming sessions and answer (after consultation and exchange) questions prepared by faculty members in advance, to increase Emphasizing understanding and assimilation.

Faculty members correct and comment on the final answers agreed upon by the students to give feedback that will help them to create a result of what has been studied.

During these years, students of the first three years of  medicine and first-year students studying oral and dental surgery are fully educated during these years at the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences.
