Affirming the scientific standing of the Libyan International University’s esteemed faculty
and experts, who embody the university’s mindset and guide its operations, the renowned PRS
Global plastic and reconstructive surgery journal has accepted the distinguished scientific paper
presented by Dr. Radhi Al-Awkali on a novel surgical procedure for chest deformity correction.
Dr. Radhi Al-Awkali, Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeon and Vice President of the Libyan
International Medical University for Health Center Management, commented on this
achievement:
“I express my immense pride and joy in the acceptance of my clinical paper by the American
plastic and reconstructive surgery journal PRS Global, which details a new type of surgical
procedure for chest deformity correction, performed at one of Benghazi’s hospitals in the second
half of 2024.”
The success of this type of surgery has garnered widespread acclaim among chest deformity
and plastic surgery experts in the United States (according to the opinions of the four paper
reviewers who examined the procedure’s details before approving its publication in the
international journal in the first half of 2024).
It is noteworthy that the aforementioned journal is the world’s leading plastic surgery
journal and achieved an impact factor of 5.16 last year.
