Humanities and Social Sciences: Transitioning Toward a Novel Educational Model

The School of Humanities and Social Sciences recently hosted an expansive meeting for faculty members to discuss transitioning toward an educational framework centered on integrated tutorial sessions within academic courses. This shift aims to boost student engagement, foster active learning, and achieve deeper academic integration across diverse programs.

The session was facilitated by Professor Raghad Al-Oraibi, Coordinator of Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum Design and Development. She outlined the School’s vision for launching this new tutorial-based educational system starting September 2026. This initiative reflects the continuous commitment of Libyan International University (LIMU) to elevate educational quality and align its instructional practices with global higher education standards.

The meeting featured a productive dialogue among faculty regarding the significance of designing tutorial sessions tied directly to each course. This approach will strengthen connections between lectures, assessments, and practical applications, while promoting deeper student participation and collaborative learning.

This transition marks a pivotal step toward cultivating a more student-centered learning environment, reinforcing the mission of LIMU to achieve academic excellence and innovation in higher education.
