LIMU President Visits the Medical Campus in Rome

As part of the significant and distinctive visits that began a week ago in the Italian capital,
Rome, with confident strides and innovative initiatives, agreements with prestigious and
unique universities have been reached, marking a qualitative addition to the LIMU’s journey.
On Saturday, September 28, 2024, the President of the Libyan International Medical
University, Prof. Mohammed Saad, accompanied by Dr. Miftah Al-Tuwaylib, Director of
Academic and International Cooperation visited the Biomedical University Campus in Rome.
This university is known for its high-level humanitarian and social dimensions, working to
enhance knowledge and promote interdisciplinary research across fields that contribute to
personalized care, particularly for the elderly and vulnerable, through innovative projects in
collaboration with companies and institutions.
Upon the arrival of the LIMU delegation, a meeting was held with Prof. Eugenio Guglielmelli,
President of the university, and attended by Dr. Leonardo, Director of International
Cooperation, as well as the head of the Scientific Research and Studies Committee. Dr.
Faraj Bougarra, a member of the General Assembly of the Libyan International Medical
University, was also present.
The meeting focused on cooperation between the two institutions, especially since LIMU
places great emphasis on its social mission and its role in serving the community. An
agreement was reached to continue discussions through the Directors of the International
Cooperation, with a defined program focusing on executable priorities, including student
exchange programs, joint scientific and research programs, and postgraduate studies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the President of the Libyan International Medical University
extended an invitation for the Italian university to visit LIMU, which was accepted, with plans
to arrange the visit during the first quarter of next year.
