The LIMU Branch’s “Young Students” Start a Campaign to Demonstrate its Social Purpose. (Mental Health)

In order to launch its awareness and education campaign on mental health, aimed at high school students and teachers, university students, as well as people with special needs, the Public Health Committee of the Libyan Association of Medical Students and Young Doctors, LIMU branch, has begun preparations.

The planned duration of this program is March 2023 through September of the same year.
The campaign’s first phase, preparations, began with workshops led by doctors with expertise in the field of mental health (Dr. Nora Al-Alam, Dr. Radwan Al-Tayeb, and Dr. Darine Atluba). These experts offered advice and direction on how to communicate with various groups about mental health as well as answered any questions members had.

The committee will begin the second stage of its awareness campaign by beginning to visit some secondary schools after the workshops are over to assist students in reducing academic pressures. Additionally to giving lectures and organizing events targeted at improving university students’ mental health. Visiting facilities for people with special needs is another way to uplift them and enhance their mental health. The committee members will evaluate the campaign in the third phase to determine the extent of its effect and to work on improving it.
