Libyan International University (LIMU) seeks to enhance its intellectual and cultural project with its humanitarian dimensions, consciously and responsibly engaging with and integrating the culture of the other. This aims to affirm the values of beauty and lofty intellectual principles, promote spiritual elevation, and uphold human values that elevate dignity, preserve rights, and enhance awareness, taste, and conduct.
In this context, on Wednesday morning, November 5, 2025, the President of LIMU, Professor Dr. Mohamed Saad Ambarak, and the Director of the Academic Cooperation and International Relations Department, Dr. Muftah Al-Twaileb, visited one of Rome’s venerable cultural institutions: the Dante Alighieri Society. This association is named after the famous Italian poet Dante, author of The Divine Comedy.
The LIMU delegation was received by Mr. Alessandro Masi, Secretary-General and Vice President of the Society; Mr. Alessandro Vincenzoni, Deputy Secretary-General; Mr. Carlo Peruzzi, Director of Cooperation; and Ms. Sara Di Simone, North Africa Area Manager.
The two sides discussed ways to support cooperation between the two institutions and form a team to crystallize areas for cultural and intellectual exchange. This also included leveraging the opportunities offered by this ancient society for learning the Italian language.
The Dante Alighieri Society was founded in 1889 by a group of historical Italian intellectuals. It now boasts a wide international network in over 80 countries worldwide, operating through committees, schools, language centers, examination centers, and cultural institutions.
