LIMU witnessed the significant launch of the STEM Club, aimed at enhancing students’ STEM skills. The event commenced with a welcoming speech by Club President, student Rayyan Al-Dina’a, who stressed the club’s role in inspiring innovation and acquiring in-demand technical skills.
University President, Dr. Mohamed Saad Mubarak, emphasized the importance of such clubs in supporting students’ future directions, calling it a launchpad for talent. The Registrar General, Mr. Ibrahim Al-Maghrabi, spoke of the University’s ongoing support for student initiatives, affirming the club will foster a stimulating environment for innovation. Ms. Najeeba Stayta, Director of Communications, highlighted the University’s role in providing a platform for students to engage in scientific activities and exchange expertise.
The inspirational event continued with Rayyan Al-Dina’a and student Ahmed Al-Farjani introducing the STEM Club, outlining its future plans for effective communication between students and specialists. Attendees had the opportunity to interact and offer suggestions.
A distinguished panel discussion was held on the impact of the STEM Club on Libya’s future, moderated by student Fatima Al-Zawawi, featuring:
Dr. Miftah Al-Mahdawi (Mechatronics Engineering Program, Faculty Member).
Mr. Omar Al-Lias (Project Management Program Director, Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty Member).
Dr. Maryam Al-Shilabi (School of Pharmacy, Faculty Member).
Dr. Talib Al-Ruwaei (LIMU School of Medicine Alumnus).
The successful launch of the STEM Club is a major step toward promoting scientific education and innovation, underscoring the University’s commitment to a stimulating learning environment that builds a creative generation ready to face future challenges.
