Another Step Forward

Under the patronage of the University President,
Launch of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center

the Libyan International University (LIMU) witnessed the official launch of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center on November 27, 2025. The event was sponsored by the University President, Prof. Mohamed Saad Embarek, and attended by university leadership, representatives from public and private banks, and various local and international organizations interested in entrepreneurship and supporting startups.

The ceremony commenced with a welcoming address by University President Prof. Mohamed Saad, who emphasized the Center’s importance in supporting youth and promoting a culture of innovation. Following this, the Center’s Director, Mr. Zuhair Busnina, presented the Center’s vision and its role in creating a stimulating entrepreneurial environment.

A comprehensive introductory presentation on the Center and its services was then delivered by Mr. Mohamed Dhiab, the Center’s Deputy Director and Head of the Innovation and Development Unit.

This was followed by a valuable speech from Mr. Nabil Elkessraoui, Chairman of the Center’s Advisory Committee and an Islamic finance and SME financing expert from Tunisia, who discussed the importance of sustainable funding in supporting entrepreneurs.
The ceremony concluded with a rich dialogue session led by Mr. Abdul Wahab Al-Tayeb, Head of the Partnerships Unit, featuring panelists:

  • Dr. Abdullah Al-Mansouri – Vice President for Learning Affairs
  • Dr. Ayoub Al-Farsi – Member of the Monetary Committee at the Central Bank of Libya
  • Mr. Osama Al-Khattab – Director of Economic Empowerment at Tatweer Research Company.

The session discussed the challenges and opportunities in entrepreneurship and the role of academic and financial institutions in supporting innovation and building a knowledge-based economy.

LIMU aims for this center to become a leading platform that stimulates creativity, supports startups, and connects youth with experts and supporting institutions, ultimately contributing to building a better future.
