On the morning of Tuesday, November 5, 2024, the university’s 251st Council held its 13th
session, led by the Council President, with representatives, faculty deans, advisors, and
directors present. Discussions were transparent and in-depth, focusing on exploring various
perspectives in alignment with the university’s ethical code and international standards.
The Council addressed a proposed agenda, shaped by members’ suggestions according to its
established protocol. The main topics included:
- Remarks from the University President
- Applications of AI in university facilities
- Updates from the operations management team
- Implementation of guided self-learning strategies
- Progress on the strategic plan and policy documentation
- Report from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences on academic
improvements and comprehensive quality initiatives
The session began with a welcoming statement from President Dr. Mohammad Saad, who
praised the recent success of two major scientific events: the 25th Conference of the Arab
Scientific Association of Pharmacy Faculties and the inaugural Doctor of Pharmacy
international conference. He commended the organization and contributions of the event teams,
including the participation of scholars and researchers who shared impactful studies.
President Dr. Mohammad Saad also highlighted the university’s recent celebration honoring 40
national visual artists and discussed his attendance at the annual meeting of the Union of
Mediterranean Universities in Turkey, where several Memorandums of Understanding were
signed with prestigious institutions.
He emphasized the university’s commitment to change, with strategic restructuring and a new
Nursing Sciences program launching this academic year. This transformation aims to position
the university as a leader, despite challenges in business operations that require shifts in culture
and mindset.
Following the President’s address, attendees shared remarks supporting the university’s
mission to advance higher education, foster research, and encourage community service. The
AI topic included a presentation by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, well-received by
attendees, focusing on dual approaches: modernizing business operations and adopting new
technology. Finally, a visual report on administrative and academic improvement at the Faculty
of Humanities and Social Sciences was reviewed for potential implementation across other
departments.
