Emergency Course for fourth-year Students (Human Medicine)
Students of the fourth year of the faculty of Medicine received their training this morning at the Clinical Skills Lab of the university, within the lessons of the emergency medicine course, which focused on how to intubate the stomach through the nose (Nasogastric intubation).
The specialized team of the Clinical Skills Center trained students on the process of nasogastric intubation, through which the doctor pushes and inserts a plastic tube (nasogastric tube or NG tube) through the nose, and its entry continues down until it reaches the patient’s stomach, which may need to be used Nasogastric tube to feed him.
In today\’s training, as in all exercises, it has been taken into account to apply precautionary measures to combat the Corona pandemic (Covid-19), by distributing students to several training sessions, and forcing them to wear a mask, to ensure their safety and the safety of workers, and divide them into 4 groups, each group comprising 11 students Within the center, they are divided into two smaller groups, so that each group receives an hour-long training session, in line with the new policies on physical distancing, as well as in reducing the number of students to avoid crowding into narrow spaces.
