Business Administration program students in a Field Trip to Ancient Cities

On a bright Thursday morning, June 13, 2024, a group of enthusiastic students from LIMU’s
School of Human and Social Sciences embarked on an enriching field trip to the historical
sites of the ancient cities of Tukrah and Tolmeita. The group comprised students from the
Business Administration program specializing in Tourism and Hospitality, and the Tourism
Marketing program.

This field trip aimed to provide students with a firsthand experience of these ancient sites,
immersing them in their rich history, management practices, and marketing strategies employed
by the official authorities. The trip also served as an opportunity to compare and contrast
theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.

Furthermore, the field trip aimed to strengthen ties between academic institutions and national
public and private entities. Accompanied by esteemed academics and experienced tourism
supervisors, the students delved into the heart of these ancient cities, conducting insightful
interviews with tourism, antiquities, and hospitality officials. They also engaged in hands-on
exploration of the archaeological sites, gaining a deeper understanding of their significance.
The tourism supervisors graciously offered comprehensive explanations about the history of the
tourism and antiquities sectors, as well as the hospitality industry in these regions.

This immersive experience provided the students with a transformative perspective on the economic
potential of Libya’s non-oil resources.
It is noteworthy that this educational journey was organized under the esteemed supervision of:
● Dr. Abdulrahman Bouchaala, Director of the Marketing Program
● Dr. Inas Boubtana
