Stemming from its firm vision (The Vision of Promising Libya), which roots noble societal values to reach an innovative community of justice and equal opportunities for all citizens, and under the patronage of University President Prof.
Dr. Mohamed Saad Embarek-via an initiative from the Women’s Empowerment Office at Libyan International University led by Ms. Najiba Astaita-and coinciding with International Women’s Day, the National Unity Hall witnessed, on Monday morning, March 30, 2026, the launch of LIMU’s (Gender Mutual Respect Charter) before university leaders and officials. It is noted that the standard of competency and merit governs leadership and functional appointments at Libyan International University without discrimination, explaining women holding numerous leadership and administrative positions at the university with direct support from the President, who delivered an expressive speech embodying LIMU’s strategy since its founding in rooting societal values based on mutual respect and enabling all to participate effectively in decision-making, university management, and policy formulation.
Dr. Mohammad praised the role of women in LIMU’s success and leadership.
The Director of the Women’s Empowerment Office at the university, Ms. Najiba Astaita, also gave an emotional speech expressing pride in LIMU launching this document, which strengthens its leadership not only in the educational field but in contributing deeply to advancing society on foundations of justice and dignity among all citizens without any distinction.
