Head of Libyan Karate Federation Congratulates LIMU on Nouri Al-Saadawi’s Historic Achievement

In an exclusive statement, Captain Jamal Al-Ruaid, President of the Karate Federation, congratulated the Libyan International University—specifically its President, members, and Media Center—for their support of karate, and champion Nouri Al-Saadawi (a student in the School of Engineering and Technology’s Information Technology program).

Less than two weeks ago, Nouri Al-Saadawi qualified to participate in the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh through the Libyan Olympic Committee. He achieved impressive results,

securing the first bronze medal in the history of Libyan federations at the Islamic world level, a historic accomplishment for karate under his name.Al-Ruaid added that today, Nouri Al-Saadawi began his journey in the World Championship with great success, having received a direct nomination from the International Federation following multiple qualifying rounds. He started his global competition with two critical victories:

a 1-0 win against the Ukrainian world champion and a 2-1 win against the Greek champion, qualifying him for the Round of 16.

This makes him the first Libyan athlete to reach the Round of 16 in the World Karate Championship.Mr. Al-Ruaid wished success to the Libyan global champion, who is now among the world’s top 16, and concluded by reiterating his congratulations to the Libyan International University on the exceptional performance of its student and the Libyan Karate Federation’s son, on the world stage.
