The Council of the Faculty of Information Technology held its monthly meeting over the past two days, chaired by The Dean of the Faculty Dr. Tawfiq Al-Taweel, where they discussed how to double the courses of applied study.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Dean of the Faculty stressed the need to focus on the practical aspect of statistics, mathematics and physics materials, so that the student can benefit from them and exploit their concepts more instead of studying the purely theoretical aspect.
Dr. Mohammed Al Zawi presented a presentation in which he explained his vision on how to make the census syllabus as practical as possible, emphasizing the need to present some theoretical topics that are indispensable to the student in order to understand the correct and deep science of statistics.
Dr. Suad Al-Maksabi and Dr. Tamer Al-Fayedi also presented their vision of how to change the mathematics and physics curriculum to become more appliing than before, and what difficulties this process may face.
At the end of the meeting, it was stressed the importance of moving towards the applied orientation of the subjects and moving away from the traditional method of indoctrination and preservation, to make the student more aware of the problems of his community and contribute to the development of appropriate solutions.
