Confirming the Italian government’s strong commitment to expanding academic collaboration with the Libyan International Medical University (LIMU), and following the visit of Ambassador Gianluca Perrini to LIMU in early February, when both sides agreed to activate joint programs with Italian universities and institutions, the distinguished Italian delegation had expressed deep admiration for the cutting‑edge scientific expertise, modern educational system, and world‑class facilities they observed firsthand.
Building on that visit and joined today by new members, on the morning of Thursday, April 10, 2025, Prof. Mohamed Saad Ambarek, President of LIMU, along with several senior university officials, welcomed a high‑level Italian diplomatic and commercial delegation. The group included His Excellency the Deputy Ambassador, His Excellency the Italian Consul, and the President of the Italian‑Libyan Chamber of Commerce.
The delegation’s program revisited the commitments made during Ambassador Perrini’s earlier visit, focusing on ways to strengthen academic partnerships and exploring advanced professional training opportunities—especially in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence—as well as reviewing the Italian government scholarships introduced at the previous meeting.
Today’s discussions were substantive and aimed at translating prior agreements into concrete action. The Italian guests concluded their visit with a campus tour of LIMU, inspecting its faculties, programs, and state‑of‑the‑art components
