As part of his close monitoring of the educational process, University President Prof. Mohammed Saad attended a laboratory session on Thursday, December 5, 2024. The session, part of the “CVS Unit” anatomy course for second-year Applied Medical Sciences students, was titled “Arteries and Nerves of the Forearm”. It marked the first use of the state-of-the-art virtual dissection table.
Accompanying him were the Vice President for Community Service and Sustainability, Dr. Ali Saeed, and the Dean of the Applied Medical Sciences Program, Prof. Abdullah Al-Mansouri.
During the session, students explored the nerves and arteries of the forearm using the Anatomage Table, a high-tech device employing advanced imaging technology to create a detailed, interactive, 3D digital representation of the human body.
Thanks to its high-resolution images and interactive features, the technology enables students to explore the human body in ways previously unattainable. They can manipulate and dissect 3D virtual models using specialized software, offering a realistic, interactive, and dynamic educational experience that closely mimics real-life dissections. Students can view different layers of the body, rotate and zoom in on specific structures, and even perform virtual dissections
