“Medad” Strengthens its New Identity

“Medad” Strengthens its New Identity and Hosts a Cardiology Workshop at LIMU Under the theme “Investing in knowledge is the way to improve the quality of health care,” a specialized scientific meeting on pacemakers was held at the Promising Libya Hall on Saturday, August 23, 2025. The event was organized and supervised by Medad, the LIMU Center for Training and Continuing Education, in collaboration with the Libyan Heart Association and with the support of the Pharmaceutical Expertise Company. Attendees included the center’s team, university leaders, faculty members, and guests, including specialists and professionals. The meeting was a workshop consisting of a series of sessions titled: “ICD and CRT Devices and Developments in the Treatment of Heart Diseases.” This event brought together a selection of the most prominent doctors and consultants in cardiology in Libya. Held in the Promising Libya Auditorium on the LIMU campus, the meeting saw a remarkable medical and scientific attendance. The speakers discussed the latest developments in using pacemakers such as the Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) and Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT) devices. They also highlighted clinical challenges, evaluation mechanisms, and best practices in patient selection, device operation, and follow-up. A group of medical experts enriched the meeting with advanced knowledge. The scientific program included a series of intensive presentations by a selection of leading specialized doctors:

In his speech, he emphasized the importance of supporting scientific initiatives that contribute to the development of medical cadres, noting that

“the partnership with Medad represents an ideal model for effective communication between sectors to achieve common goals in raising the efficiency of health care.”
