In an ongoing and dynamic effort, grounded in the principle of limitless work, excellence,
interaction, and communication, the Libyan International University has reaffirmed
its leadership in e-learning and distance education since its inception. The university aims to
enhance, refine, and further develop this distinguished achievement, which proved its
effectiveness during the COVID-19 pandemic. While other universities in Libya paused
operations, the Libyan International University continued its distance learning
programs, thanks to its qualified staff and available resources.
On Friday, September 27, 2024, a preliminary visit was made to the International Telematic
University UNINETTUNO in Italy. UNINETTUNO is a renowned institution, employs highly
qualified professors from multiple international universities, offering courses both in person
and online, with instruction available in Italian, Arabic, English, and French.
The President of the Libyan International Medical University, Prof. Mohammed Saad, and
the Director of Academic and International Cooperation, Dr. Miftah Al-Tuwaylib, were
welcomed by several officials from UNINETTUNO, including Nicola Baravati, Head of
International Affairs, and Dario Asanti, the university’s representative for Research and
Innovation.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed areas of cooperation and reviewed
UNINETTUNO’s pioneering academic and technical achievements. As one of Italy’s leading
distance learning institutions, UNINETTUNO is accredited by the Italian Ministry’s Quality
Agency and is known for its commitment to high standards, strict evaluation systems,
cultural openness, and a large student base.
Prof. Mohammed Saad also presented LIMU’s innovative experience in e-learning and
distance education, which greatly impressed the UNINETTUNO team. Both sides agreed to
advance this initial framework into a comprehensive cooperation agreement, with actionable
steps to be implemented in the near future.
