The BMS faculty continues to develop its clinical laboratory program curricula

The Curriculum Preparation and Development Committee for the Clinical Laboratories Program at the faculty of Basic Medical Sciences (BMS) held its weekly meeting last Thursday, on September 24, 2020, headed by the Faculty Dean, Prof. Abdullah Al-Mansouri, in the presence of both d. Rashad Shawky Clinical Laboratory Sciences Program Coordinator. Dr. Moataz Al-Hassi, a representative of the Curriculum Office of the faculty, and Dr. Nawar Al-Qumati, a representative of the faculty\’s Quality Assurance Office, as well as in the presence of a number of faculty members, Dr. Mohamed Hamza, d. Ahmed Hassouna, Dr. Muhammad Hammad, Dr. Hussein Hamed, and Dr. Wael Al-Hawary.

It is worth noting that the faculty of Basic Medical Sciences (BMS) had launched its new program to award a bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory sciences, which provides its students with a strong foundation in applied medical sciences, and provides them with training opportunities in the fields of laboratories, medical research, and management, during four academic years, including a training period.

My work is intensive in faculty and hospital laboratories.

The faculty works to provide innovative curricula that respond to the needs of the profession and qualify graduates specialized in medical laboratories, able to engage in the fields of health care with high potentials of theoretical knowledge and technical skills to contribute to the provision of high-quality diagnostic service through their ability to link relationships between laboratory data, health, and pathological variables, This qualifies them to work in complexes, medical laboratories, hospitals, pharmaceutical, and food factories, in addition to job opportunities in the fields of biotechnology, medical research centers, and medical product development fields.

This program is designed according to the requirements of national and international academic accreditation, such as the accreditation of the British Institute of Biomedicine and the American Society of Clinical Pathology, which provides the opportunity for graduates to obtain professional fellowships for subspecialties such as the fellowship of the Royal College of Pathology and the American Society of Diseases.

Through this program, the faculty of Basic Medical Sciences at the Libyan International University for Medical Sciences confirms its merit for leadership at the national and regional levels in its scientific programs and curricula to ensure highly qualified graduates in academic and practical fields, and in a way that achieves its goals in raising the quality of work in medical laboratories, enriching scientific research, and qualifying its graduates With professional quality and high research capacity
