Celebration of Fine Arts: A Revival of Noble Values Honoring 40 Visual Artists

Since its establishment, the Libyan International University has been striving to
promote noble values and recall events and personalities that have played a prominent
positive role in the nation’s journey. These efforts have contributed to elevating the values of
giving, dedication, and advancing both conscience and artistic aesthetic taste.
In this context, with a regular rhythm and respectable performance, the organizing
committee for the celebration “Figures from My Country” in its second edition continues its
meetings to follow up on the preparatory and executive steps for this session. This edition
has been dedicated to visual art and honoring 40 of its pioneering artists, in the largest
celebration of visual arts witnessed by Libyan universities.
In this regard, the National Unity Hall witnessed a periodic meeting on Thursday morning,
August 22, 2024. The meeting included the committee members and was attended by its
chairman, Dr. Ali Said. The details related to the events accompanying this grand national
celebration were presented.
This celebration aims to honor 40 visual artists, recognizing their contributions to the Libyan
art scene and their role in shaping the cultural landscape of the country. It represents a
significant effort by LIMU to acknowledge and celebrate the importance of visual arts in
Libya’s cultural heritage.
The organizing committee’s regular meetings demonstrate the university’s commitment to
ensuring the success of this event. By dedicating this edition to visual arts, the university is
highlighting the importance of this artistic medium in expressing cultural identity and
fostering creativity.
This initiative by the International University not only honors individual artists but also serves
to inspire younger generations and promote the continued development of visual arts in
Libya. It reflects the university’s broader mission of supporting cultural and artistic endeavors
alongside its academic pursuits.
