As part of its intensive academic activities, the Emergency Medicine Department organised
the EM Scientific Day yesterday morning, Saturday, September 14, 2024. The event was
attended by several university and faculty leaders, students, and distinguished guests.
The event began with a speech by Dr. Zaki Beltamer, Head of the Emergency Medicine
Department, followed by presentations moderated by student Sara Al-Sarah.
When asked about the event, Dr. Beltamer explained that it was a scientific day organized by
the Emergency Medicine Department of the Libyan International Medical University, in
collaboration with the Libyan Medical Students and Young Doctors Association and
sponsored by the Medical Pharmaceutical Group.
The day featured engaging lectures presented by students from the university under the
supervision of faculty members, including Dr. Zaki Beltamer, Dr. Hatem Al-Tayeb, Dr. Abu
Bakr Al-Deeb, Dr. Ali Rajab, and Dr. Salem Saqr. The sessions covered the latest updates in
emergency medicine and highlighted the role of nursing in the field, offering opportunities for
fruitful discussions with attendees.
Dr. Beltamer added that the scientific sessions were managed by him, Dr. Hatem Al-Tayeb,
and Dr. Salem Saqr. Students Sama Al-Mahdawi and Dania Sharia presented cases related
to respiratory systems, while Mohammed Boujwari and Buthaina Mohammed focused on
cardiovascular issues. Abdul Moaz Lafi and Ahmed Noah discussed neurology, and Ahmed
Sweidq and Mohammed Al-Haddar covered endocrinology.
Dr. Wafaa Ramadan delivered a short lecture emphasizing the crucial role of nursing in the
emergency room. The event concluded with a brief presentation by a representative from the
Medical Pharmaceutical Group, highlighting the company’s essential role in supporting the
healthcare sector.
At the end of the event, certificates of participation and appreciation were distributed to the
attendees.
