GBMS II test for first-year students at BMS Faculty

Today, Saturday morning, students of the first year of the College of Basic Medical Sciences (BMS) took their exams in the GBMS II educational unit.
The College of Basic Medical Sciences (BMS) grants its graduates a Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory and a Bachelor’s in Basic Medical Sciences, after four academic years divided into three academic levels as follows:
(*) The first stage (preparation stage), with a duration of one academic year.
(*) The second stage (the basic stage), with a duration of two academic years.
(*) The third stage (advanced stage), with a duration of one academic year, includes preparing the student for a research project (for graduation) approved by the college\’s scientific committee.
The College of Basic Medical Sciences plays the primary role in preparing students for the first three years of the College of  Medicine and for the first and second years of the College of Oral and Dental Medicine who follow during their preparation period a full dependency of the College of Basic Medical Sciences.

Study in the college, like other Libyan international university colleges, depends on an interactive education system such as educational dilemmas, learning with the team, panel discussions, lectures, practical lessons, scientific seminars, reporting, scientific research, etc. in order to achieve its educational goals that make its graduates able to:
(*) Understanding the general structure of the human body, the sites of the organs and their spatial relationship to each other.
(*) Understanding the microscopic structure of tissues and organs of the human body, including cell structure and genotype.
(*) Learn the main functions of the organs of the human body in its natural and pathological condition and the adaptations that can happen as a result.
(*) Study the possible relationship between the human body and its surroundings, and the various interactions, whether natural or pathological, that may occur as a result.
(*) Identification of living and microorganisms and parasites with which humans can coexist or may make disease.
(*) Study of drugs that a person can use in his struggle against disease, the mechanisms of action of these drugs and their uses, as well as the damages that can occur as a result of this use.
(*) Understand the importance and how to use different diagnostic aids such as radiology and laboratories.
(*) Acquire the skills and mechanisms necessary to work independently according to the priorities and needs of the community.
(*) Acquire the necessary skills for scientific research and development.
The College of Basic Medical Sciences \”BMS\” also seeks to prepare graduates with the appropriate knowledge, skills, and professional behaviors that enable them to:
(*) Practicing the profession in the various fields of education and health care.
(*) Confronting and solving the various educational and research problems by relying on the skills to solve the dilemmas acquired by them through the college system.
(*) Apply the principle of lifelong learning.
(*) Meeting the needs of society in many educational and research fields
