The Faculty of Medicine at LIMU welcomed, at 20th 21th of May, a high-level audit team appointed by the Director-General of the National Center for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Educational and Training Institutions.
This was to follow up on the latest developments regarding the recommendations presented during the previous visit at the beginning of last November.
The team began the opening session yesterday morning, Monday, in the National Unity Hall, meeting with the members of the Medicine program, including the dean, vice dean, heads of departments, the quality office, study and examinations office, the faculty registrar, and representatives of these departments and units at the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, as well as the director of the University Medical Center, in the presence of the university’s general registrar.
The team concluded its visit yesterday evening, Tuesday, with a meeting with LIMU’s president and several of its leaders in the National Unity Hall.
In this context, it is noted that the Faculty of Medicine has obtained program accreditation according to the standards of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME).
The file presented by the Faculty of Medicine contributed to the National Center’s recognition by this international organization, qualifying it to provide accreditation to local faculties according to international standards. This was documented by the certificate of appreciation awarded to Dr. Hamza Al-Danfiri, the head of the program accreditation audit team, for the Medical Faculty at the University of Benghazi and the LIMU’s Medical Faculty, as evidenced by the attached certificate.
The Faculty of Medicine at the Libyan International University is the only private faculty in Libya that has received this distinction.
