The Libyan International Medical University Embarks on a New Educational Method

The Libyan International Medical University (LIMU) embarked this Thursday on the application of a new and practical learning method: Inter-professional Education (IPE) for students of the faculties of medicine, pharmacy, and applied medical sciences under the supervision of Prof. Adel Al-Tawati, Vice-Rector for Learning Affairs.

The inauguration of \”Inter-Professional Education\” comes as a new step within the university\’s distinguished journey in its continuous work on developing its pedagogies and adopting modern learning methods to achieve the university\’s vision. This system depends on the participation of students from different faculties and academic years in unified scientific and educational activities through which they learn the mechanisms of inter-personal cooperation and work so that each of them performs their respective role (using different technologies and sciences) and according to their specialization in producing a treatment plan in cooperation by everyone: the physician, the pharmacist and the graduate of the faculties of Applied Medical Sciences and Information Technology.

This modern educational method is one of many educational methods that have characterized the university since 2009, such as Problem-Based Learning, Team-Based Learning, and Inquiry-Based Learning in order to achieve its vision of being a leading institute for education
