This morning the workshop (mental health in the time of Covid-19) organized by the Training and Continuing Learning Centre, in cooperation with the International Organization against Hunger, was launched at the centre hall inside the university, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The organization of this workshop is based on the commitment of the University to community responsibility, which must contribute to the advancement of society, build the behaviour and actions of its members and organizations alike, and support efforts to raise human beings and their social behaviour and develop their personal and social conscience and homeland.

It should be noted that the COVID-19 crisis has left unprecedented levels of mental health and psychosocial support needs for HIV victims, their families, health workers and others responding to the pandemic, as well as the general public. This has exacerbated the psychological distress of thousands of people.

The combined effects of lockdown restrictions, lack of social interaction and emotional pressures are striking people’s mental health and access to care
