The Student Union at LIMU, in cooperation with the Department of Communications,
celebrated Independence Day, which falls on December 24th. The celebration began on
the morning of December 25th, 2022, with students as the focus and youth as the
foundation. The university was decorated beautifully, with students keen to embody
authentic Libyan heritage. We saw horsemen riding horses eloquently in the university
square, and students in national clothing led by the university president who also wore
traditional clothing. The conclusion of these distinguished events was a unique political
and historical dialogue in its content and presentation, presented by researcher Dr.
Faraj Najm on the United Nations session on independence and the political struggle of
the distinguished ancestors. The dialogue was considerably active by a great deal of
interaction from the audience and multiple perspectives that enriched the dialogue and
deepened its goals.
