This clinically oriented course is designed to provide the student with the basic principles of the diagnostic process of the common diseases that affect teeth, periodontium and oral tissue. It also enable the student to evaluate the patient’s physical condition and formulate proper treatment plan based on patient’s need, patient’s general health, facilities available and financial factors. Also this course deals the basic principles of X ray production, the biological effects of ionizing radiation and radiation safety. It emphasises on the intra oral and extra oral radiographic techniques. Students learn to take and interrept oral radiographs, and perform initial screening , examination and diagnosis. The course is integrated with different dental specialities .
